It’s Humpday, my day off, and I want to get the kids motivated to clean the house.
“Hey guys, after lunch how about if we try to get things back to normal around here”.
“Normal???? We have to be normal?”
“Ummm, I said ‘back to normal’; you know, like putting things back where they belong”.
“Sorry Mom, I thought you meant we have to BE normal”.
“We are normal”
“No, Mom, we’re like one severed hand away from being the Adamm’s Family. That’s not normal”.
I love my family.
My Fellows like to borrow the phrase (too often, I might add) “We’ve put the fun in dysfunctional.”

Love this, what’s normal; we’re all dysfunctional no matter what. When my girls were little we subjected them to bizarre British comedy TV like Blackadder & Red Dwarf, not to mention US comedy such as Friends & The Simpson’s and whatever else. I’m now blessed with three daughters and a wife who are utter barmcakes. “Nursing Sister” Kelly in Melbourne is the nuttiest of them all as her two sisters will tell you, middle one Lizzy; a Social Worker no less is a right “fruit-loop” and Ali who works at “Her Majesties Revenue & Customs”, yes a “Tax-man”….. is just an over-grown Rock-Chick. Throw Hylton into the equation and you’ll get my drift. As for me, I’m quiet and civilised………….Really I am. Hee Hee Hee…!!!

And to think it was Micheal’s pretty face that drew me in, and all these lovely relatives who are my soul mates across the way were just the frosting on the cake! I’m glad we’re all a long way from normal, really. Life is too short to be civilized! XX
